Evie

Evie and Monte .................................................................... Jack and baby Evie

Remy and baby Evie.............................................................Evie and her frog

My name is Evie but my mom calls me monkey-moo or little dog. I am six years old, but my mom adopted me back in 2001 after one week of fostering when I was only 4 months old.

I am deaf, but happy as can be. I have a great life, and I know lots of hand signals to communicate with my family. I have two brothers, Jack and Monte (Monte also came through WHDR - another failed foster). I had two sisters (Remy and Jessie) as well, but unfortunately they both got sick and are no longer with us. But I’ve also gotten to know lots of other dogs when we have fostered them. I love to take walks, go for rides in the car, and play with my rope, my big ball that my mom makes me keep outside, and my disc.

I’m super smart (smarter than my mom) and I love to figure out how to open cabinet doors (especially when there’s trash or food inside) and pull stuff out. My grandma had to clean spaghetti sauce off the kitchen ceiling just the other day when she came to visit us… Thanks Robbie for suckering my mom into fostering me (you knew I was a monkey the moment you met me but she didn't realize it, see... not that smart). You gave us both a great gift!! Thanks WHDR for all that you do for deaf dogs because we're just like the rest of them!!
