George and Gracie came to us October 4, 2008.  They are siblings and have been connected at the hip, so to speak, since birth.

They were adopted from Willing Hearts 6 yrs ago when they were pups.  Their former owner gave them so much love and they had great care for many years.  Unfortunately, due to life changes he could no longer and returned them to us.  We told him we would find them homes and he needed to rehome them quickly so they were put in a boarding facility in Lewistown.

They adjusted well and I could see they just adored each other.  When they went out to potty they went together.  When two dogs go at the same time we joke and call it the "synchronized moments "....

A few months went by and it seemed like we did not have anyone interested in them as a pair so we tried placing them separate which was very hard because they were so bonded.

December 8, 2008 Grace found a wonderful home with a single gentleman in MD.  I loaded Grace in the car and she seemed fine. She did look back at George who was outside with my husband on lead.  It was heart wrenching to watch George though... he knew she was in that truck.

A day or so went by and we checked on Grace in her new home and it was a match!! Gracie is very happy being the only one as long as she can keep her diva status.

George seemed to go into a depression.  I let him out of his kennel during the day while grooming so he could be close to me and be in an active atmosphere.

January 1, 2009 Happy New Year... George is still awaiting his home and then it happens. A nice woman, Jeri from MD, contacts us wanting to adopt a male and George has caught her eye.  We took him to the vet for a once over and low and behold he needed cruciate ligament repair on his back leg.  He occasionally limped but quickly seemed to recover.  We had no idea it was this serious. This poor boy can't win for losing!

January 12, 2009 George heads to State College for his leg surgery.  Surgery goes well and George comes home the next day.

Jeri is still interested in meeting George and we couldn’t be happier.  He so deserves a home like hers.  She and her female dallie mix will be great companions for him. Please keep your fingers crossed it works out for him.

His bill is $2007.23 and to date (Jan 27, 2009) has not been paid.  We desperately need financial help.
