Thank you is simply not enough. You can only imagine what this day means to me. Today SDVA and you are giving me the greatest gift - Kaufman*!

Two years ago I was savagely beaten, burned, coma, out of body, brain injury, memory loss, had to learn to walk again, tie my shoes again, learn to live again... Recovery has been a long and difficult road for me. People call me "Miracle Woman" because I'm alive. However, I really haven't felt alive till today.

I live daily with fear and stress. On the outside, people see me as a survivor and admire me. But on the inside I ache for the unconditional love that my animals gave me. I struggle every day with fear in order to venture beyond my own front door. Some days I don't even feel safe inside my home.

After one fumbling class with Kaufman I felt empowered, self-assured and safe. I look forward to sharing my life with Kaufman. We will make an incredible team.

I feel the greatest admiration for you and SDVA. You all have given me the chance to feel complete again. Thank you so much and God Bless.
