Thank you, Cesar Millan!

HOPE for Animals is honored to be one of the recipients of a grant to help in the recovery effort of Hurricanes Ike and Gustav from the Cesar and Ilusion Millan Foundation.  This monetary donation will be used to help rebuild HOPE's kennels, where many of our foster dogs were kept prior to the storms.  We send our heartfelt appreciation to Cesar and his foundation!

Talk about rags to riches!  Pictured here is "Theo," a male Beagle who was running wild in a cane field about a year ago.  It took HOPE volunteers two weeks to convince him to be rescued!  This special boy spent 9 months with HOPE until a compassionate lady from Covington spotted him on our website and adopted him a couple of months ago.  Now, Theo enjoys the GOOD life, complete with afternoon naps before dinnertime!  We're so happy for you, Theo!

URGENT!

HOPE is in need of volunteers to help tear down the existing kennel.  To offer your assistance and verify future work days, please call 985-438-0667 or 985-447-9454.  Thank you!

ATTENTION!

The Humane Society of Houma-Terrebonne is collecting money to donate beds for the homeless dogs at the Terrebonne Parish Animal Shelter to keep them warmer this winter.  Find out how you can help make these needy angels a little cozier!

Check out HOPE's new YouTube video, complete with information about our group, pictures of animals up for adoption, fundraising events, and, our favorite, happy endings!  Thank you for your unending support!

URGENT!

"Benny," a precious Boston Terrier mix currently under the care of Ascension Animal Advocates, was badly burned by either chemicals or hot liquids.  This rescue organization is currently accepting donations for his medical expenses.  The veterinarian says Benny will be ready for adoption in approximately two weeks.  He is altered and up-to-date on vaccinations, but will probably never have hair where he was burned.  He's house-trained, very playful, and is good with kids.  To help with Benny's medical bills, or if you're interested in adopting him, please call 225-315-3438, or send a check to P.O. Box 1829, Prairieville, LA, 70769.  Please make checks out to Ascension Animal Advocates with "Benny" in the memo section.

"Tux," an adorable, loving male kitten thrown from the back of a truck in Houma, needs a wonderful home.  This little guy is very playful and affectionate.  For more information, please call 985-868-0942 or 985-791-8546.

ATTENTION CARTRIDGE COLLECTORS!

We need your help!  We're getting a LOT of laser printer cartridges (large cartridges) that have been refilled, and we cannot use them.  Disposal is becoming a problem.  HOPE gets the most money for Brothers, Canon, Hewlett Packard (HP), and Lexmark brands.  Please call Vicki at 985-447-3821 if you have any questions.  Thank you for your continuing support of this program.

NOTICE!

The Louisiana SPCA's low-cost spay/neuter services is now available to all individuals, families, rescue organizations, and other humane welfare groups, to step up efforts to end pet overpopulation throughout the region.  There is no limit per household nor geographic restriction.  For pricing information, please visit the LASPCA's website, and to set up appointments for your pets today, please call 504-368-5191, ext. 141.  Let's make a difference for homeless pets in our area!

Don't be a "throw-away" pet owner!  Consider the sacrifices before adopting!

"Free to good home" too often means a death sentence.

NOTICE

Don't throw your ink jet and laser printer cartridges away!  HOPE can use them to make "Cash for Critters"!  Old cell phones are also now being accepted!  (Note:  Epson printer cartridges are not accepted.)  For more information, or to have yours picked up, please call 985-447-3103.
