Adoption Is A Serious Decision...
Adopting an animal is a serious
decision requiring, a life-long commitment to care for
a creature that is totally dependent upon you. Pets need
more
than just food, water and shelter. They also need love,
attention, exercise, training and grooming (and of course
a license).
Our adoption procedure discourages impulsive decision-making,
which may jeopardize an animal's future well-being.
Adoption Application
All persons interested
in adopting from GHS must complete a adoption application
as the first step in the application process. We will
be happy to go over the process with you.
Adoption
Contract
If the application is
approved, you must sign a legally binding adoption contract.
Read the contract carefully. By signing it, you are agreeing
to abide by all local and state laws regarding annual
vaccinations, animal control and licensing. It is also
an agreement to take proper care of the animal, to provide
for all its needs, and to return the animal to us if
you find that you can no longer care for it. A follow-up
visit or phone call will be made to assist you with any
questions and/or concerns you may have.
Adoption
Fees
Adoption fees are $65.00
per cat/kitten, and $95.00 per dog/puppy.

Unavailable
Animals
There are times when you
may hear that we have puppies or kittens at the shelter,
but don't see them in the kennels or cat adoption room.
If they are not in the general viewing areas, they are
not yet available. When they are ready to go home, they
will be moved into the official adoption areas.
