We often have dogs that have expensive medical conditions or circumstances that require them to receive extra care and attention.

We try our hardest to provide our dogs with whatever it is they need, although sometimes it can become very costly.  For example, the cost of treating a heartworm positive dog can range anywhere from $150 - $300 per dog.

The following are dogs that need sponsorship and/or they are "special needs" dogs:

Bari is a older boy looking for a calm home to enjoy his senior years.  He does have a hard time seeing but gets around fine.  He was placed in a foster home until we can find that perfect home for him.  Please call us if you are interested in helping Bari.  ADOPTED!!

Brea is a 35 pound adult female beagle mix between three and five years of age. She came to the shelter with her hip out of socket from an old injury.  She is looking for a calm household to love her to pieces.  Exercise is still important for Brea, and she even likes to romp and play at the dog park.  Due to her medical history, she require a household with no small children.  A family with kids at least teenager age would be great.  She loves to snuggle and give gentle kisses.

Jada is a middle aged girl looking for a quieter home where she can cozy up with her favorite person for years to come! We recently received news from our vet that Jada's left hip shows deterioration and signs of arthritis. Although she has shown little signs of pain, Jada is currently on inexpensive medication to keep her pain free.  Jada is still very happy and can still move well despite her diagnosis and despite her foster mom's efforts to keep her from playing too much with her Border Collie...and hopping up on the bed to take the best spot! If you think you may be able to provide a loving forever home for Jada, please contact us. Keeping her on medication is mandatory.  As always, we are looking for donations to help with Jada and all of our "special needs" vet care.

If you would like to adopt any of these special needs dogs or if you would like to donate towards their care and/or treatment, please contact us at k9strayrescue@yahoo.com
